Valley of the Gods Jeep Road

The Valley of the Gods Jeep Road Trail is a seventeen-mile stretch of gravel and clay that winds through the area's monoliths. The road starts off of Highway 261 at Cedar Mesa, where the gradual descent of the first four miles ends with a large wash crossing. After this, the road begins to ascend north, passing Balanced Rock and Lady in a Tub among other towering stratigraphy. At the nine-mile mark, the climbing ends at Castle Butte and two miles of mild descending follows along the east side of Battleship Rock. The next few miles are rolling terrain that steepens slightly for the final stretch. On the way, riders will spot Rooster Butte, Setting Hen Butte, and the Seven Sailors.
