Hammond Canyon

The Hammond Trail #012 is 6.4 miles long.  The trailhead is located at Forest Road #088 (Elk Ridge) at Little Notch.  The trail follows Hammond Canyon passing its many side canyons and sandstone rock spires, to an intersection with Forest Trails #166 (Posey) and #005 (Cream Pots).  This trail can be combined with Forest Trails #166 (Posey) and #005 (Cream Pots) as well as South Elk Ridge Road (#088) and South Elks Road (#092) to create overnight backpacking loops or one-way through hikes.
