Friday, March 6th:Awards Ceremony and Film Screening & Discussion, 7pm – 9pm, free & open to the public, Bluff Community Center – Join Friends of Cedar Mesa as we honor those who are making a difference during our annual awards ceremony. Following, Dr. Laurie Webster presents the film, Languages of the Landscape: The Cedar Mesa Perishables Project.
Saturday, March 7th:Friends Gathering, 8:30am – 4pm, ticket required $45.00, Bluff Community Center – Join us for a day of educational presentations celebrating Cedar Mesa and the broader Bears Ears region. Presenters include Author & Adventurer Steve Allen; Zuni Artist Chris Lewis; Geologist Gary Gianniny; Santa Clara Artist Joe Naranjo; Archaeologist Shanna Diederichs; Heidi Redd, Kristen Redd & Matt Red of Dugout Ranch and The Nature Conservancy; Adventurer Hannah Greene; BYU Professor of Anthropology Jim Allison; John Ruple, Friends of Cedar Mesa Board Member and Associate Professor of Law (Research) at the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law; and panel discussion featuring Bill Lipe, Former FCM Board Member and Archaeologist, and other early leaders of FCM on our 10-year anniversary. *Speakers are subject to change.*
Saturday, March 7th: Friends Dinner, ticket required $20.00, Bluff Community Center – Join Friends for an informal dinner catered by Twin Rocks Cafe.
Saturday, March 7th: After Party, 8:00pm – 10:00pm, Friends Gathering ticket required Bears Ears Education Center – Dance the night away to live music as we Celebrate with Flagstaff-based band Dubsquad.
Sunday, March 8th: Educational Hikes 10am, ticket required $20.00 – Join Friends of Cedar Mesa staff, board, and volunteers for a series of educational hikes across the region.
