WiFi is slow to non-existent in places, there’s arguably one traffic light for the entire San Juan County (nearly, the size of New Jersey!), cows stand in the roads and wonder why you’re moving so fast, and people slow down to talk with each other—to connect.

Edge of the Cedars State Park and Museum will host the 2019 Archaeology Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of Utah’s Archaeology & Preservation Month on Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Our plan was a no-brainer: ride the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route (UTBDR) from Mexican Hat, Utah, to the Idaho border, starting in Santa Barbara, California. Packing along both the official map and GPS tracks, and having already nixed a couple of “expert” sections from our route, we set off.
