Located in Bluff, UT, the Bears Ears Education Center is a mission-driven
space designed to provide information on how to respectfully and appropriately
visit Bears Ears National Monument. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers provide
regional information including what to do in Bears Ears, places to camp and
hike, scenic driving routes, and more. Free Bears Ears maps are also
available.
The center aims to teach people from near and far about the natural and
cultural landscape of southeastern Utah and how to visit Bears Ears with
respect. Operated by local nonprofit, Friends of Cedar Mesa, the education
center is a welcoming space for explorers of all kinds.
The Bears Ears Education Center also includes a retail shop featuring books by
desert writers, T-shirts, hats, cards, and a variety of other gifts as well as
limited outdoor gear including daypacks, backpacking food and fire pans.
The Bears Ears Education Center is open 9am to 5pm, Thursday – Monday, March
to November.
