Free Astrophotography Class at Hovenweep
Interested in learning more about night sky photography?
On August 20th, Don Riddle will be conducting a free astrophotography workshop at Hovenweep National Monument. It runs from 7:15pm until roughly 10:30pm to 11:00pm. The following equipment is required:
• Camera with ISO up to 6400 Available (DSLR or Mirrorless) • Wide angle lens 50mm or less (stock lenses are ok. f stop lower than 3.2 is preferred) • Sturdy Tripod • Remote shutter control (recommended) • Red light headlamp • Warm Clothes • Camp Chair (Recommended) • Extra Memory card • Extra Batteries (if possible) • Thumb Drive • Bug Spray
This is late night shooting, so rest up and bring a snack! We also have a campground where spots can be reserved on recreation.gov if you choose to stay overnight.
