San Juan County Economic Development and Visitors Services has had to adjust the way business is done in regard to Travel and Trade shows. Previously representatives of the office were on the road with hard copies of promotional  literature, stand up displays and a trunk full of the tools of the trade representing San Juan County-Utah’s Canyon Country.

With COVID, Unicomm, the company who puts on the Travel & Adventure Show series, decided to try to develop a virtual platform that would still have the same look and feel as the in person shows with attendees first entering the lobby, then continuing to the Exhibit Hall, with live speakers, cultural performances and the like.

Previously these shows have been held in major cities across the country, but with the new virtual platform, the shows are now accessible to people living in more rural areas who might not have had access to shows in the past.

This platform allowed for exhibitors to load videos, brochures, maps, itineraries and more directly to the booth for attendees to access. The forum also offered a live chat feature as well as a live zoom feature where attendees could ask questions and video chat with county representatives in real time.

The creation of Utah’s Canyon Country virtual booth was handled by the offices contracted agency, Relic Advertising Agency of Provo and included images of SJCEDVS-Utah’s Canyon Country Director Natalie Randall and Allison Yamamoto-Sparks, Visitor Services and Tourism Specialist. Attendees could see the actual people they were chatting with when they visited Utah’s Canyon Country's booth.
