Wildlife Viewing
Birds This is one of the last great rural bastions of the United States and a haven for wildlife to thrive. Here it is common to see many large birds; ravens, hawks, eagles, and turkey vultures. Occasionally you may even catch site of a roving California Condor which is making a comeback in the west.

Other large animals that are commonly seen are pronghorn antelope that roam the open ranges, and mule deer. Seldom seen larger animals include, elk, bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, and black bears. Numbers of these animals are often plentiful but they are reclusive and more likely to avoid contact with humans.

Smaller birds and many reptiles and desert wildlife are commonly seen. You'll enjoy identifying the many types of wildlife that exist in Utah's Canyon Country.
