San Juan ATV Safari

The San Juan ATV Safari

The San Juan ATV Safari is an incredible three-day adventure that will leave you breathless. From the top of the Blue Mountains in the center of San Juan County to the depths of the surrounding canyons, this ATV extravaganza will surround you in the beauty and excitement available only in the Canyonlands Country of Utah. ATV enthusiasts will experience three fantastic days of world-class riding with a banquet and entertainment at the close of the event. This annual ATV rendezvous will be something you will not want to miss.

The ATV trails of the San Juan Safari are spectacularly beautiful and exciting. Many of the trails are rated "expert" riding level, but some of the trails are rated "easy." Twenty different trails are available to pick from. You will be able to ride one of the trails each day of the Safari, for a total of three great rides. Regardless of the trails you choose, you should prepare yourself for a scenic and exciting adventure. Trails will originate from both Blanding and Monticello, UT and return to that same starting location each evening. Some of the trails will leave from the community, while others will involve transporting your ATV to the trailhead. A few of the available trails include Shay Ridge on the slopes of the Blue Mountains, which offers a great view of the surrounding Four Comers area from the cool of the mountains; River Ruin/Lime Ridge Trail in the Bluff area, which is a great ride with opportunity to view Anasazi Indian ruins; and the Behind the Rocks Trail, an easy ride in the vicinity of Canyonlands National Park.

Every trail is guided by a group of three experienced ATV riders who are familiar with the trail and the sights along the way. Many of these volunteers are long-time residents of San Juan County and know the country intimately.
