Painter Connie Tveten

Blanding, Ut - On February 10, visitors will enjoy the work of Montana artist Connie Tveten in an exhibit entitled A Tribute to Antiquity.  Connie Tveten has had a lifelong interest in the wildlife and history of the American west.  Most  of her adult life was spent on a ranch on the eastern prairies of Montana.  The tipi rings and the other signs of the Plains Indian culture inspired an interest in dipicting artifacts from the past.  A Tribute to Antiquity includes paintings of authentic and rare specimens of ancient pottery from the prehistoric southwest.  The exhibit, on display in the auditorium gallery, runs through July 15, 2010.

Tveten is an award-winning artist who has participated in the C.M. Russell Auction and Art Show since 1985.  Her work has been displayed at the Clymer Museum, the Wild Wings National Art Show, the Greeley Invitational Art Show, and the Ellensburg National Art Show, where she won People's Choice Award and the Kenney Family  Wildlife Award.

The Museum is located at 660 West, 400 North, in Blanding.  Hours are 9 a.m.  to  5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday.  Admission is $5.  For more informationcontact the museum at 435-678-2238, or www.stateparks.utah.gov
